Data Scientist, Trust & Safety

Trust and safety are foundational to everything we do at Sellrbox. Our clients trust us with their Amazon accounts, advertising budgets, and brand reputation. We're looking for a Data Scientist to help us protect account health, detect policy risks, and ensure our AI tools operate within marketplace guidelines.

You'll build models and systems that monitor account health signals, detect anomalous marketplace activity, and flag compliance risks before they become problems. Your work will directly impact the safety and performance of every client on the platform.

This is a high-impact role where data science meets real-world consequences. A missed policy violation can get a client's account suspended. An overly cautious system throttles growth. You'll find the balance.

In this role, you will…

• Build detection models that identify account health risks, policy violations, and anomalous marketplace activity before they escalate

• Analyze advertising and sales patterns to distinguish between normal performance fluctuations and signals that require intervention

• Develop risk scoring systems for new client onboarding and ongoing account monitoring across Amazon and other marketplaces

• Partner with engineering to deploy models into production and build automated alerting pipelines within our AI tools

• Monitor marketplace compliance staying ahead of platform policy changes across Amazon, Walmart, and other channels

• Report on trust and safety trends as the team's expert on the evolving regulatory and compliance landscape in e-commerce

You'll be a great fit if you…

• You have strong ML fundamentals. Classification, anomaly detection, time-series analysis. You know when to use a simple heuristic vs. a complex model.

• You've worked in trust & safety, compliance, or risk. E-commerce, payments, marketplaces, or advertising platforms. You understand adversarial dynamics and policy enforcement.

• You're comfortable with scale. Millions of data points per day across advertising, inventory, and sales. You know how to build systems that perform under load.

• You think about edge cases. The interesting problems in T&S live at the margins. You're meticulous about false positives and false negatives.

• You communicate well. You can explain model decisions to non-technical stakeholders and write clear documentation.

• You're pragmatic. You ship working solutions, then iterate. Perfect is the enemy of good in risk prevention.
